Hi Uncle John!

Good to hear from you. I'm sure you two will have a great time down in the Amazon, can't wait to hear about it and see some pictures. I guess Lady will be missing you a lot, though I hear Lorne is on-deck as official head dog sitter so at least you know she's in good hands. I hear you're settling in to your new job, must be nice to have a couple of months behind you now. Anyway, have a great trip (only a few days left to go)! I'm looking forward to hearing about it.

Amy
Your experience(s) sounds wonderful! Good for you and thank you for logging (blogging) your thoughts on this! We will not be a techno-connected on our trip south, but will bring back stories.
Lady will be filling the void your family has with your absence and will be barking your siblings into shape over the two weeks starting next Tuesday.

Haha yeah dad, it's actually not true that Costco doesn't let you try stuff on...they just make you commit to looking like a fool in order to do so. I do believe on my last Costco run before leaving for China I was actually wearing underwear over top of my pants at one point. It was an all time Costco-low.

I was actually going to suggest to you guys that we should consider investing in some kind of karaoke device for family parties, I actually think it could be a hit (after a few drinks of course). Larry was born to karaoke...Nick Carter move over!

I know, seriously right? I just can't understand how that policy makes sense...but i guess if every store in the country has it then you don't really lose any business. It was such a shift from China where they will bend over backwards to have you try stuff on! The disposable gauze hood cracks me up.. that just seems so Japanese to me!

Hi Judith!

Yes, Jeju was a very impressive place, the scenery and geography were unlike anywhere I've ever been before..I had no idea such places could be found in Korea!

School is going okay, the professors are relatively good and the work load is not too intense. My classes are all taught in English though the majority of my classmates are Chinese.

I guess Halloween is coming up quickly now...I don't have a costume yet but actually I think we may be taking off for a weekend at the Yellow Mountains next week so I might be missing the Shanghai Halloween festivities all together. I guess you have the house all decorated by now :D I still remember going to a Halloween party at your house when I was little and you had made "witches hands" by stuffing clear plastic gloves with jelly bean "fingernails" and popcorn..i thought that was sooooo cool - oh the random things that you remember!

Mom must have taken me to a Korean store to buy clothes last weekend - I think it was called "Kostco" or something like that. I'm not surprised to hear Leon is a Karaoke phenom - I imagine his dad would really perform if we could figure out a way to sneak a Karaoke machine into the latter stages of a family party. Larry Jaworsky performing a BSB song - just picture it!! Now that would cure Steph of her BSB mania....

Not being able to try on clothes is so baffling. In Japan sometimes they give you a disposable gauze hood to wear over your head to keep the makeup and sweat off.

I'm happy to hear you have renewed your determination about China! Keep it up!

We were up in Comox this weekend and I told Steve's brother about your trip to Jeju island. He had been there years ago when they were living in Japan. Agreed with you how very beautiful it is/was. How's school going? Are all your classes in English? We have entered the "monsoon " season here. Planning some Halloween festivities in our neighborhood. Don't forget to bring home some Native dress to add to the "tickle Trunk"/ costume box!! Love from Jude and Steve.
