It’s my first time in San Francisco and from what I can tell from the airport, it seems to be a pretty nice place. I left Victoria this morning on a 7:10 a.m. flight and will arrive in Shanghai tomorrow at 5:30 p.m…but that includes the 15 hours they are ahead time-wise. Apparently clearing customs as an exchange student in China can be quite the task, so I’m expecting a long wait on the other end. The challenge after that becomes finding a legitimate taxi drive, followed by the challenge of getting to my apartment using sign-language (probably mostly pointing) and perhaps a few bits of broken Mandarin with this poor guy. Anyway, I’m heading straight to the apartment where my roommates are waiting, a girl from Germany doing the same program as me and a Chinese guy who is also a student in Shanghai. woohoo!
